Our story
My name is Ieva and I am the creator of LINEN ISLE. I started knitting with a knitting machine in 2016, after the invitation of my godmother to give it a try. I was interested in the fact that by knitting I can CREATE and express my creative side in different patterns and colors. Each product is carefully handmade, into which a part of the heart is put, from casting the stitches on the knitting machine, sewing and even sending the package.
I spent several years participating in various craft markets in Latvia and outside Latvia, offering various types of knitting both from wool and linen. Thanks to this experience, I came to the conclusion that I want to work directly with linen. Linen is very durable, anti-allergic and perfectly cools on a hot summer day. Absolutely wonderful and ecological material.
The birth of my son gave the biggest impulse to the creation of LINEN ISLE. He has given me the strength to believe in my dreams and move forward. So that's exactly what I do, I create and knit clothes from linen, based on my values and putting a piece of myself into everything.
Everything starts with a person. LINEN ISLE is also a story about me. I am happy to share with you my view of the world, as well as to give you a dose of joy in life through colors!

Why linen?
Linen is one of the oldest cultivated plants in human history.
Linen is made from the cellulose fibers that grow inside of the stalks of the flax plant, or Linum usitatissimum. It grows to about three or four feet tall, with glossy bluish-green leaves and pale blue flowers.
Linen has many good qualities:
- It is absolutely natural and ecological.
- Linen is one of the most sustainable material you can choose for your wardrobe.
- It is perfect for knitting spring and summer weight garments because of its absorbency and drape.
- Other wonderful flax yarn properties include that it is anti-fungal and antibacterial, and also regulates body temperature.
- Linen is very soft and smooth, and it even becomes softer the more often it is washed.
